Treasures in The Attic

                                             Treasures in The Attic
True to its name, walking in The Attic is a bit reminiscent of rummaging through grandmother’s house, opening old chests and antique wardrobes to reveal vintage fur-trimmed coats, lace tablecloths from bygone days, random nicknacks sitting on shelves, jeweled rings lying in glass dishes.  Yet, on the other hand, you may find some skinny jeans befitting Joey Ramone, and I believe Madonna may have left her a good portion of her eighties wardrobe here.  What appears at first to be a tranquil setting, at second glance becomes a bustling underground clothing trade, where savvy shoppers can buy, sell and trade vintage, retro and designer clothing, at a fraction of the price found in many consignment shops. Loyal followers know to check in often, as new items arrive daily.
Starting at a small location in historic Kutztown, the store became a quick favorite with the college crowd. The business expanded to locations on Main St., Bethlehem, Main St.,Manyunk, a newly opened State College Attic, and an Online Store which sells items exclusive from the store locations.   The decor, like the merchandise is modern, retro and thrift shop.
Unlike most consignment shops, sellers can opt for cash immediately, receiving 30% of the selling value, or store credit at 55% of the selling value.  Selections are based on condition, style, and customer demand, with the store taking pride on only selling items in very good condition. Age range of styles vary, with something for everyone-women, men, and home accessories. Designs include Free People, J. Crew, Hollister, Juicy Couture, Banana Republic, and many more! The Attic buys everyday, no appointment necessary, but call ahead with a large order.  Look for store promotions online, through Facebook, and email for even more savings!
